Publication of the PALS Booklet for Hospital Management

Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors are the number one Change Agents in the efforts of improving infection prevention and control in Nigerian health facilities.

PALS recognizes that all IPC change efforts need both: the dedication of health care workers as well as the commitment and support of hospital management. Therefore, the PALS training program follows a double helix strategy by working on both levels and with both target groups through advocacy visits, workshops, trainings, and during a mentored practice phase.

The “PALS Booklet for Hospital Management”, as an advocacy and training manual, presents the Participatory Approach to Learning in Systems as a training and practice approach for sustainable quality development in infection prevention and control in Nigerian health facilities. It describes how PALS addresses IPC improvement, gives an overview on the training programme for Change Agents in health facilities and provides insights into the concept, models and methods of PALS.
